2006 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva Briglhof, Alto Adige, Italy

Preserved and partly dried black berries on the nose, hint of meat stock, light animal and smoky notes. Firm on the palate, ripe fruit, animal notes, more meat stock, smoky, roasted, sooty spicy notes, full-bodied and creamy, but also rather smooth, not particularly deep, oaky on an otherwise fairly good finish.

Editor note: Very ripe, partly preserved and partly dried black berries and plums on the nose, prominent roasted and spicy as well as light smoky notes. Ripe, juicy, quite warm fruit on the palate, spicy, roasted oak, hint of sugar candy, mature tannins, very full-bodied and creamy, good persistence, quite firm. slightly astringent on an otherwise very good finish.
