2008 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Edelvernatsch "Haselhof", Alto Adige, Italy

Preserved red and a few black berries on the nose, light vegetal notes, delicate hint of almonds. Straightforward tart fruit on the palate, light oak, more light vegetal notes, earthy notes, fine, dusty, mature tannins, some almonds in the background, attractive finish. Already slightly past its peak (which may in part be attributed to the synthetic closure), but still pleasant to drink.

Editor note: Very clear nose, partly preserved red berries and some cherries, herbaceous traces. Clear, relatively soft red fruit on the palate, elegant and juicy, mature tannins, slightly creamy, good persistence, earthy mineral traces in the background, very harmonious, has some depth, a real pleasure to drink, good to very good finish.
