2006 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Riserva Cabernet, Alto Adige, Italy

Fairly prominent cassis notes on the nose, notes of blackcurrant leaves, some bell peppers and herbs. Straightforward fruit on the palate, preserved blackcurrants, cassis and medicinal herbs, light earthy notes, mineral traces, integrated, slightly dusty tannins, has some character, substance and backbone, almost imperceptible oak, very good, long finish. Good example to demonstrate that firm, persistent wines do not need a lot of alcohol.
