Description to Assisi DOC

DOC area for reds, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region Umbria, The zone includes parts of the three municipalities of Assisi - the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226), Perugia and Spella in the province of Perugia. The Bianco is from Trebbiano Trebbiano Spoletino (50-70%), Grechetto = Grechetto di Orvieto (to 10%), as well as other approved varieties (max 40%) blended. The wine types Rosso (also called Novello ) and Rosato are out Sangiovese (50-70%), Merlot (10-30%), as well as other approved varieties (up to 40%). The varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety, a maximum of 15% may be other approved varieties. This is the white wine Grechetto, as well as the three red wines (all as Riserva ) Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Nero logo CNRS logo INIST Pinot Noir,
