The winegrowing area in Hungary is located at the southwestern end of the north shore of the Balaton (Lake Balaton), like all waters a positive influence on the climate exercises. It is one of the most famous Hungarians, the wine from here is also called "nectar of the gods". The vineyards cover approximately 1,800 hectares on the slopes of volcanic hills that protect against the cold north wind. Here, above all, powerful, fruity and storable white wines produced. The main varieties are Kéknyelü, Olaszrizling ( ), Ottonel Muskotály ( Muscat Ottonel ), Rizlingszilváni ( Müller-Thurgau ) Sauvignon Blanc and Szürkebarat ( Pinot Gris ).
