DOC area for red wine in the Italian region Lombardy, It is one of the oldest, because the classification was issued in 1968. The zone covers 48 hectares of vines in the three municipalities of Brescia, Botticino and Rezzato in the province of Brescia. The wine is made from Barbera (30%), Berzamino Marzemino (to 20%), Schiava Gentile and or Schiava Grigia (10%), Sangiovese (10%), and other approved varieties (max. 10%) blended.
