Description to Bouzeron AOC

Community appellation in French Burgundy between Chagny and Rully in the northwest corner of the large area Cote Chalonnaise, It extends over the areas of the municipalities Bouzeron and Chassey-le-Camp. The vineyards cover around 60 hectares of vineyards on nutrient-poor clay and limestone soils at 270 to 350 meters above sea level, most of them with the white grape variety Aligoté are planted. The wines used to be under Bourgogne Aligote marketed, were allowed to add the common name from 1979 and bear the designation "Bourgogne Aligoté Bouzeron", before finally being created in 1997 due to the excellent quality. The white wines are made from the Aligoté variety. Well-known producers are Domaine Carnot, Domaine Chanzy, André Lhéritier and A. & P. de Villaine. See also under Bourgogne,
