Description to Colli Perugini DOC

DOC area for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region of Umbria. The zone includes the municipalities of Deruta, Fratta Todina, Marsciano, Monte Castello di Vibio, Perugia and Piegaro in the province of Perugia, and the municipality of San Venanzo in the province of Terni. In the case of grapes from classified vineyards, it is possible to indicate Vigna followed by the name of the vineyard

Rosso (also known as Novello) and Rosato are made from Sangiovese (50%), as well as other approved varieties (max. 50%). The wine types Bianco and Vin Santo are produced from Trebbiano Toscano (up to 50%) and other authorised varieties (max. 50%, and max. 10% Malvasia varieties)

The pure wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety. These are the three red wines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, and the four white wines Chardonnay, Grechetto(Grechetto di Orvieto), Pinot Grigio(Pinot Gris) and Trebbiano(Trebbiano Toscano). The Spumante is produced in any blend of Chardonnay, Grechetto, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Nero (to 80%), as well as other authorised varieties (max. 20%).
