Appellation in the area of Côte de Beaune, the southern half of the area Côte d'Or in the Burgundy, It covers only five hectares of vines in 16 municipalities in the two departments Côte d'Or (12) and Saône-et-Loire (4). Excluded are the municipalities of Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Pommard and Volnay. Only red wines are allowed Pinot Noir with shares of Pinot Liébault (Pinot Noir clone) and Pinot Gris,
There is also an appellation called Côte de Beaune, However, this must not be confused with the (much larger) area Côte de Beaune.
