Description to Côtes du Marmandais AOC
Named after the town of Marmande, the appellation is located in the north of the southwest wine region of France, south of the Bergerac area. The vineyards cover around 1,700 hectares of vines. Red wine and rosé are blended from a maximum of 75% Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, a maximum of 50% Abouriou, Malbec(Cot), Fer, Gamay and Syrah. The white wine is blended from at least 70% Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Sémillon and Ugni Blanc(Trebbiano Toscano). Well known producers are Château la Bastide, Château de Beaulieu, as well as the two cooperatives CV de Beaupuy and CV de Cocumont.
