Description to Côtes du Marmandais AOC

The appellation, named after the city of Marmande, is located in the north of the wine-growing region Southwest France south of the area Bergerac, The vineyards cover around 1,700 hectares of vineyards. Red wine and rosé are made from a maximum of 75% Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, maximum 50% Abouriou, Malbec ( Cot ) Fer. Gamay and Syrah blended. The white wine is made from at least 70% Sauvignon Blanc, such as Sémillon and Ugni Blanc ( Trebbiano Toscano ) blended. Well-known producers are Château la Bastide, Château de Beaulieu, and the two cooperatives CV de Beaupuy and CV de Cocumont.
