Description to Crozes-Hermitage AOC

Area classified as Cru (peak appelation) in the northern section of the Rhone on the left bank. The vineyards cover 1,300 hectares of vineyards in eleven municipalities in the department Drôme, The wines are similar to those in the area to the north Hermitage, but are considered easier and easier compared to them. The red wines are made from the varieties Syrah and a maximum of 15% Marsanne or Roussanne, the white wines from the varieties Marsanne and Roussanne. A well-known wine lover was the locally famous bandit Mandrin. Well-known producers are Albert Belle, Chapoutier, Bernard Chave, Domaine du Colombier, Château de Curson, Desmeure, Domaine des Entrefaux, Fayolle, Alain Graillot, Jaboulet-Aîné and Domaine du Pavillon-Mercurol.
