DO area in the Spanish province of Tarragona in the region Catalonia that is between the two DO areas Penedès and Tarragona lies. He was best known for the high quality of the grapes used for the sparkling wine Cava produced and delivered to Penedès for production. The particular suitability of the grapes from this area for the sparkling wine was made by the famous oenologist Miguel Torres (* 1941) recognized. The vineyards cover around 6,000 hectares of vineyards on predominantly calcareous soil. These are located at about 500 meters above sea level in a crater-shaped valley, which here as Conca referred to as.

Two thirds are with the white wine varieties Macabeo (biggest part), Parellada and something Chardonnay planted. Dominate the red wine varieties Trepat.
