Description to Erice DOC
DOC area for red and white wines in the Italian region or island Sicily, The former classification of IGT to DOC was carried out in 2011. The zone covers in its entirety the municipality of Buseto Palizzolo, as well as parts of Castellammare del Golfo, Custonaci, Erice, Paceco, Trapani and Valderice in the province of Trapani.
The Bianco will be out of the Catarratto game species Catarratto Bianco Comune and Catarratto Bianco Lucido (60%) and other approved varieties (40% max.). The Rosso (also as Riserva ) is produced from Calabrese (60%) and other authorized varieties (40% maximum).
Dier wine types Passito (Moscato di Alessandria), Vendemmia tardiva Sauvignon and Vendemmia tardiva Zibibbo ( Spätlesen ) must contain at least 95% of the respective variety. The Spumante Brut is produced from Chardonnay (for 70%), the Spumante Dolce from Zibibbo (for 95%).
