DOC area (also Isonzo del Friuli) for a wide range of reds, rosés and white wines in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, The area crossed by the eponymous river Isonzo extends to the Slovenian Border. It is made up entirely of the municipalities of Gradisca d'Isonzo, Mariano del Friuli, Medea, Moraro, Romans d'Isonzo, San Pier d'Isonzo, Turriaco, Villesse e parte di Capriva del Friuli, Cormons, Farra d'Isonzo, Fogliano di Redipuglia, Gorizia, Monfalcone, Mossa, Ronchi dei Legionari, Sagrado, San Canzian d'Isonzo, San Lorenzo Isontino, Savogna d'Isonzo and Staranzano in the province of Gorizia (Gorizia).
The Bianco is made from certified white varieties except Moscato Giallo. Rosso and Rosato are made from certified red varieties except Moscato Rosa. A Vedemmia tardiva ( late vintage ) are from Chardonnay, Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon and Verduzzo Friulano. a Spumante is available from Chardonnay, Moscato Giallo, Moscato Rosa, Pinot Bianco, Rosso and Verduzzo Friulano. a Frizzante is available from Bianco, Rosso and Rosato.
