DOC area for a wide range of red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, The zone completely includes the municipalities of Latisana, Lignano Sabbiadoro, Palazzolo dello Stella, Precenicco, Pocenia, Rivignano, Ronchis, Teor and Varmo, as well as part of the municipalities of Castions di Strada, Morsano al Tagliamento and Muzzana del Turgnano in the province of Udine. The area is located in the Isonzo basin on the Adriatic coast with the famous seaside resort of Lignano and is close to the region to the west Veneto on. The soil consists of sandy loess, partly mixed with gravel, and is particularly suitable for red wines.
The Bianco and Passito are blended from Friulano (60%), Chardonnay and / or Pinot Bianco (max. 30%) and other approved varieties (max. 10%).
