IGP area on the island Corsica; the name means "island of beauty". It belongs to the huge IGP area Méditerranée, The island is often shared with the French wine-growing region around 160 kilometers to the west Provence considered as a unit. The vineyards for IGP wines comprise 3,200 hectares of vines, which is almost half of the stock. But these account for around three quarters of Corsican production.

By clearings of land, planting international grape varieties and reducing the yield From the 2000s onwards, the quality of IGP wines improved. Around 35% red wines, 45% rose wines and 20% white wines are produced. All varieties permitted on the island can be used for this. The main red ones are Sciaccarello ( mammolo ) Aleatico. Barbarossa, Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) and Nielluccio ( Sangiovese ), the main white ones are Ugni Blanc ( Trebbiano Toscano ) Vermentino and Biancu Gentile, Well-known producers are Cave Cooperative d'Aghione, Cave Cooperative d'Aleria, Cave Cooperative de la Marana, Clos Nicrosi, Domaine Boccheciampe, Domaine Comte Abbatucci and Domaine du Mont Saint-Jean.
