Description to Maranges AOC

The named after the homonymous municipality appellation with 180 hectares of vineyards located in the Côte de Beaune on the Burgundian Côte d'Or, It was formed in 1989 by merging the three former independent AC's Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize lès-Maranges and Sampigny-lès-Maranges. These three places share the Les Maranges vineyard with the Premiers Crus Clos de la Boutiere, Clos de la Fussiere, Clos des Loyeres, Clos des Rois, Clos Roussots, Croix Moines and Fussière. Almost exclusively red wines from Pinot Noir with proportions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault are pressed. These can also be called Côte de Beaune or Côte de Beaune-Villages be marketed.
