Appellation in the district of Ioannina in the northwest of the region Epirus ( Greece ) on the border to Albania, which is named after the township of the same name. The vineyards cover around 400 hectares of vineyards on barren, calcareous soils at 600 to 700 meters above sea level, which are mostly fenced in to protect them from the wild boar. The area is traversed by the Kalamas River. The dry expanded POP white wine (dry) and the white sparkling wine and sparkling wine (dry, semi-dry, lovely) unmixed from the indigenous variety Debina (which is also called Zitsa here). The rose colored sparkling wine is called POP Amynteo declared and marketed. Well-known producers are Glinavos (Monastiri Zitsa) and Zoinos,
