The appellation named after the place of the same name in the far north Corsica extends south from the Gulf of Saint-Florent west of Bastia. It partially overlaps with the AC Muscat du Cap Corse, The vineyards cover just under 400 hectares of vineyards on limestone soils. The over 80% produced red wines and rosés are produced from at least 90% Nielluccio, as well as Grenache Noir, Sciacarello and Vermentino. The white wine is made from Vermentino (here called Malvoisie). Well-known producers are Antoine Arena, Clos de Bernardi, Domaine de Catarelli, Domaine Gentile, Domaine Giacometti, Domaine Leccia, Clos Marfisi, Clos Montemagni, Orenga de Gaffory, Domaine Pastricciola, Domaine Aliso Rossi and Clos Teddi.
