Description to Pays d'Oc IGP
One of the six major regional IGP areas for the production of country wines in France, The other five are Atlantique. Comtés Rhodania. Comté Tolosan. Méditerranée and Val de Loire, It lies deep in the south-east of the country on the Mediterranean and includes the double region Languedoc-Roussillon and the right part of the southern one Rhone in the five departments Aude. Gard. Hérault, Lozère (only 6 municipalities) and Pyrenees-Orientales, The name "oc" in the Occitan language means "yes", from which the "oui" has developed. Langue d'Oc means "language of the Oc" in Occitan. From the 2009 vintage, a three-level quality hierarchy was created. The lowest level is "Séduction" followed by "Style" and the highest level "Collection".
