Description to Pézenas AOP

The appellation Languedoc-Pézenas is located in the center of the French winegrowing region Languedoc, It was classified as AOC in 2006 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The vineyards are up to 300 meters above sea level. They cover the 15 municipalities of Adissan, Aspiran, Caux, Fontès, Fouzilhon, Gabian, Lieuran-Cabrières, Montesquieu, Neffiès, Nizas, Paulhan, Péret, Pézenas, Roujan and Vailhan in the département Hérault, The red wine is made from at least 2 of the 3 main grape varieties Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ), Mourvèdre ( Monastrell ) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) and Cinsault blended.
