Description to Pézenas AOP

The Languedoc-Pézenas appellation is located in the center of the French wine-growing region Languedoc, It was classified as AOC in 2006 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The vineyards are up to 300 meters above sea level. They extend over the 15 municipalities of Adissan, Aspiran, Caux, Fontès, Fouzilhon, Gabian, Lieuran-Cabrières, Montesquieu, Neffiès, Nizas, Paulhan, Péret, Pézenas, Roujan and Vailhan in the department Hérault, The red wine is made from at least 2 of the 3 main grape varieties Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ), Mourvèdre ( Monastrell ) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) and Cinsault blended.
