Description to Saint-Pourcain AOC

The appellation is located in the department of Allier in central France north of the area Côtes d'Auvergne, as well as west of Cotes du Forez and Côte Roannaise, It is part of the winegrowing region Loire, The former VDQS was classified as AOP in 2009. In the Middle Ages, the white wine enjoyed the highest reputation and was one of the favorite wines the French royal court and in the period 1309-1377 the popes in Avignon. The vineyards cover 550 hectares of vineyards in 19 communities in the valleys of the Loire Creek Allier, as well as its inlets Bouble and Sioule on a length of 35 km. The red wine is going out Gamay (to 40%), Pinot Noir (about 25%) and Gamay Teinturier blended. The rosé is varietal pressed from Gamay. The white wine is going out Chardonnay (to 50%), Tressalier Sacy (to 40%) and Sauvignon Blanc blended.
