Description to Saint-Veran AOC

The municipal appellation is an enclave at the southern end of the area Mâconnais in the Burgundy, You may not with the community of the same name in the Provence be confused. The area is divided by the appellation Pouilly-Fuissé, The vineyards cover over 700 hectares of vineyards in the eight municipalities of Chânes, Chasselas, Leynes, Davayé, Prissé, Saint-Amour (one of the Beaujolais Cru communes), Saint-Vérand and Solutré in the Saône-et-Loire department. In the appellation name, the "d" of the eponymous municipality Vérand was omitted so as not to snub the other places or to achieve acceptance.

White wines from are allowed Chardonnay, The wines can alternatively also as Beaujolais Blanc. Bourgogne Blanc or Mâcon-Villages. If the alcohol content is at least 12% vol, a position may be stated on the label. Well-known producers are Château du Carruge, Château Fuissé, Corsin, Fréderéric Curis, Demessey, Duboeuf, Roger Lassarat, Olivier Merlin, Deux Roches, Saumaize-Michelin and Valanges.
