Tache (La) AOC
Description to Tache (La) AOC
The Grand Cru location is in the Burgundian community Vosne-Romanée in the Burgundian area Cote d'Or, The name means "laborious work" (having to make an effort). In 1791, the legendary vineyard was purchased by Claude Marey from the Liger-Belair family, one of the largest and oldest wine trading houses in the Burgundy, An expansion in terms of area to include the Premier Cru location Les Gaudichots then followed in 1924. When in 1945 the Grand Cru location Romanée-Conti was planted again, the vines from La Tâche served as the basis. Up to this point the vines in both locations were ungrafted and were against the phylloxera in the so-called Kultural method fought with carbon disulphide. Both vineyards were then replanted with refined vines, and the first wines were not produced until 1952.
La Tâche has been privately owned since 1933 ( monopolies ) of the famous winery Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, The vineyard covers six hectares of slightly rising vineyards, some of which are planted with vines over 50 years old. These are located at 255 to 300 meters above sea level on loamy-chalky rendzin floor with numerous limestone rubble. The mainly from Pinot Noir aged red wine with small portions of Pinot Beurot ( Pinot gris ) and Pinot Liébault (and theoretically too Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc ) is one of the best and most expensive in the world, It only develops its potential after 15 years at the earliest and can be stored for decades.
In the wine guide you will find currently 138 060 Wines and 22 865 Producers, including 1 612 classified producers.
