Description to Vire-Clesse AOC

The municipal appellation is an enclave in the center of the area Mâconnais in the Burgundy, It was created in 1998 by merging the Mâcon-Clessé and Mâcon-Viré divisions. The vineyards cover over 400 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Clessé, Laizé, Montbellet and Viré in the Saône-et-Loire department. White wines from are allowed Chardonnay, Well-known producers are Domaine André Bonhomme, Domaine Maurice Bressand, Jadot, Domaine Merlin, Domaine Michel, Domaine Philippe, Maison Rickaert, Domaine Sainte Barbe and the Cave Coopérative de Viré cooperative.
