Description to Vire-Clesse AOC

The municipal appellation is an enclave in the center of the area Mâconnais in the Burgundy, It was created in 1998 by merging the areas Mâcon-Clessé and Mâcon-Viré. The vineyards cover over 400 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Clessé, Laizé, Montbellet and Viré in the Saône-et-Loire. Allowed are white wines Chardonnay, Well-known producers are Domaine André Bonhomme, Domaine Maurice Bressand, Jadot, Domaine Merlin, Domaine Michel, Philippe Domaine, Maison Rickaert, Domaine Sainte Barbe and Cooperative Cooperative de Viré.
