The origin of this wine cooperative in the city Krems in Lower Austria with the address Sand pit 13 goes back to the oldest hewing guild of Krems and Stein, founded in 1447, the oldest in the German-speaking area. In 1938, quality-conscious winemakers from the Krems and Stein tusks founded the winemakers Krems. In the 1950s, the Traismauer (Traisental) wine cooperative, founded in Austria in 1898, was incorporated. From 1989 to 2019, Franz Ehrenleitner was responsible as managing director. Winzer Krems - company building

Around 1,000 hectares of vineyards in five Lower Austria wine regions are managed by 960 contract winemakers.
